Producing an extensive range of work Blenkinsop Leathers Ltd. is one of the few remaining leather factories within the United Kingdom to have full wet and dry end facilities on site. Combining a knowledge of traditional methods with the latest techniques the factory provides a truly bespoke service with the ability to produce leather specific to the client's requirements. Blenkinsop Leathers Ltd. has earned a reputation for a high standard of product and a dedicated customer service; currently supplying leathers for various international fashion houses, saddlery and shoe companies. Highly acclaimed work includes leather picture frames for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, chair leather for Barack Obama and interior leather for Bill Gate's yacht in addition to reclamation work on historic leathers such as those salvaged from the Mary Rose (Tudor warship).

Blenkinsop Leathers Ltd. was established in 1989 by Derek Cooper, Robin Gardner and Andrew Miller, three former employees of Odell Leather factory which had closed earlier that same year. The company initially opened in a small factory with a workforce of only fifteen people, however, as the business grew, larger premises were required, causing the relocation of the business to its current site in Higham Ferrers. Many of the original employees still work for Blenkinsop Leathers Ltd. which has a local, highly skilled workforce, a number of whom have several decades of experience within the leather trade. For some time Robin Gardner and Andrew Miller managed the company together but have since been joined by Gregory Miller.
