Various leathers are produced for shoe uppers; different materials suitable for categories such as formal/casual/work and fashion footwear. Light-weight to heavy-weight leathers can be manufactured with either a soft, supple or hardened texture. A range of finishes are available; natural, waxy, variable levels of gloss, embossed or speacilised finishes such as a water resistant coating. The leather can be produced to any colour.
